Tipos de condicionales
Zero conditional
Se usa para hablar de condiciones generales, que son siempre ciertas: water boils at 100 degrees.
If + present simple + present simple
Neg If + (not) + present simple + present simple
Ejemplos
If people eat too much, they get fat
If you touch fire, you get bunrned
People die if they don´t eat
If ice doesn´t warm, it doesn´t melt
First conditional
Se refiere a situaciones particulares: If you put your hand in that soup, you'll burn
If + present simple + will
Neg If + (not) present simple + will
Ejemplos
If she comes home , I will tell her about the exam
If it rains today, I will watch a movie
If he is ill, I will give him the homework
If you do not come , you will miss the show
Second conditional
Se usa para expresar condiciones hipóteticas referidas al presente, algo que es poco probable que ocurra, If I had a car, I would go to the beach
If + past + would + infinitive
Neg If + (not) past + would + infinitive
Ejemplos
If I where rich, I would travel around the world
If I where you , I would tell her
If I talk to her, she will remember me
If I didn`t won the lotery, I wouldn´t buy a house
Third conditional
Se usa para hablar de las cosas que no pasaron, o para imaginar qué habría pasado si las cosas hubiesen sido diferentes, If I had seen him, I would have told him about you
If + past perfect simple + would have + participio
Neg If + (not) + past perfect simple + would have + participio
Ejemplos
If you had studied more, you would pass
If I had known you needed help, I would have helped you
It could have been nice if you had come on Saturday
If I hadn`t won the lottery, I wouldn`t bought that house
